Cookie Policy

Overview

Identity architecture is our profession, so we hold this site to the same standard we recommend to clients. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is read, and GA only loads if you grant Analytics consent. Reject and no GA scripts are downloaded, no GA cookies are set. Revoke later and any previously set GA cookies are deleted on the next page load.

We do not run advertising pixels, retargeting tools, session replay, or fingerprinting. The full inventory is below.

What This Site Currently Stores

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to function. Cannot be disabled.

Name

aa-cookie-consent

Type

localStorage

Purpose

Remembers your choice on the cookie notice (accept, reject, or per-category preferences) so we do not show it on every page load.

Expires: Until you clear browser storage

Name

aa-hero-idx, aa-page-hero-idx

Type

sessionStorage

Purpose

Tracks which mountain backdrop was shown last so the rotation does not repeat itself on the next page load.

Expires: Cleared when you close the browser tab

Analytics

Google Analytics 4. Loads only after you grant Analytics consent. With IP anonymisation, ad personalisation and Google Signals explicitly disabled. If you reject or revoke consent, the GA scripts are not loaded and any previously set GA cookies are deleted on the next page load.

Name

_ga, _ga_<id>, _gid, _gat

Type

first-party cookie (set by Google Analytics)

Purpose

Distinguishes unique visitors and throttles request rate. Set only when Analytics consent is granted. Processor: Google Ireland Limited.

Expires: _ga: 2 years; _gid: 24 hours; _gat: 1 minute

Marketing

Not currently in use. We have no plans to add advertising or retargeting cookies.

No items in this category at this time.

What We Do Not Use

  • Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, or DoubleClick
  • Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or any social-media tracker
  • Cross-site advertising cookies of any kind
  • Fingerprinting or device-identification techniques
  • Session replay or heatmap tools (Hotjar, FullStory, etc.)
  • Google Signals or ad-personalisation signals (explicitly disabled in our GA configuration)

How to Control Your Preferences

You can reopen the consent dialog at any time and change your choices. Your decision is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to us.

You can also clear all site storage from your browser's privacy settings. On the next visit the notice will appear again. Most modern browsers support per-site cookie blocking; we treat such signals as a rejection.

If This Ever Changes

If we introduce analytics or any other non-essential processing, this page will be updated and previous consent will be reset so you can make a fresh choice. We will not silently start tracking you because we added a new tool.
